Our in-person CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid (BFA) certification courses offer a comprehensive and immersive learning experience, facilitated by our skilled instructors at your preferred location. The cost for each course is tailored according to the specific certification required and the number of participants enrolled. Notably, for smaller groups with fewer than 10 registrants, the fee may be adjusted to maintain the high standard of course delivery and professional instruction.

Course Setup and Duration

  • Preparation: Access to the training area is needed at least one hour before the course begins to set up essential equipment, ensuring an efficient and effective session.
  • Course Length: Typically lasting between 2.5 to 3 hours, our courses are designed to provide a thorough educational experience in a concise timeframe.
  • Breakdown: An additional hour post-session is required to dismantle and clear the site.

Certification and Resources

  • Immediate Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a digital e-card certification on the same day, validating their skills in CPR, AED, and BFA.
  • Educational Materials: Participants also gain access to an electronic textbook, supporting continued learning and reference.

These in-person training sessions are structured to equip participants with vital skills needed to effectively manage health emergencies, thereby boosting their confidence and capability in performing life-saving interventions.

Virtual and Blended Learning Options for CPR Certification

Course Options and PricingWe offer both virtual and blended learning options for our CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid (BFA) certification courses, priced uniformly at $55 per attendee. This consistent pricing reflects the cost per credit for each participant, regardless of the learning format chosen.

Blended Learning PreferenceBased on feedback and contractual agreements with our partners, we predominantly recommend our blended learning approach over the purely virtual option. This preference is driven by our commitment to ensuring comprehensive knowledge retention, particularly for the cognitive aspects of the course.

Blended Course Structure

  • Cognitive Learning: Participants complete the theoretical portion of the course online, which allows them to learn at their own pace while covering essential information and techniques.
  • Skills Verification: Following the virtual cognitive training, we conduct a brief on-site session ranging from 30 minutes to one hour. During this session, our trained instructors will verify practical skills using manikins and other necessary consumables. This session can be arranged for entire groups at your location, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.

This structure allows participants to gain foundational knowledge online, followed by practical application and verification, ensuring a thorough understanding and competence in life-saving techniques.

What are the three major organizations for CPR certification and which should I choose?

When comparing CPR certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), and the American Red Cross, it’s important to consider their similarities and differences in terms of content, recognition, and suitability for different industries. Here's an overview:

Similarities:

  1. Content Coverage: All three organizations provide comprehensive training in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), including how to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies and choking for adults, children, and infants.
  2. Practical Components: Each course typically includes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills training, often with hands-on practice using mannequins.
  3. Accreditation: Certifications from all three are widely recognized and respected across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and public services.

Differences:

  1. Training Approach:
    • AHA: Often considered the gold standard, especially in medical settings, because of its research-based approach and detailed focus on healthcare provider skills.
    • ASHI: Known for flexibility in training programs and may be more adaptable for workplace settings, focusing on general safety and emergency response.
    • American Red Cross: Offers a broad range of emergency preparedness training, including CPR, with a focus on practical skills suitable for the general public and workplaces.

  1. Cost:
    • Costs vary depending on the specific course and the provider offering the course. Generally, AHA courses might be more expensive, reflecting their extensive use in professional medical training.
    • ASHI and American Red Cross are often less expensive and may offer more budget-friendly options for businesses and non-healthcare settings.

  1. Certification Period:
    • All three organizations generally offer certifications that are valid for two years, after which a renewal or refresher course is required.

Suitability for Different Industries:

  1. Healthcare: AHA certifications are often preferred or required in healthcare settings due to their detailed focus on medical aspects of CPR.
  2. General Workplace: ASHI and the American Red Cross are more commonly utilized in non-healthcare workplaces, like corporate environments, schools, and construction sites, due to their practical approach and flexibility.
  3. Public Services: The American Red Cross is often chosen for public service roles, like lifeguards, educators, and community center staff, because of their comprehensive approach to first aid and CPR.

Cost-Effectiveness:

  • For Healthcare Professionals: The AHA's courses might offer better value despite higher costs because they meet specific regulatory requirements and are highly valued in medical fields.
  • For General and Corporate Use: ASHI and the American Red Cross might be more cost-effective, especially when training larger groups, as their programs can be more flexible and less expensive.

When choosing a CPR certification, consider the specific requirements of your industry and whether the training meets legal or occupational standards. Additionally, evaluate the potential for group training sessions, which can often reduce costs and increase accessibility for larger teams.
